Selling your own products is how a lot of people have made the big bucks. Internet marketer John Reese famously made $1M in a single day selling his own product, Traffic Secrets. However, as nice as this seems, I do not recommend creating your own products if you have no marketing experience at all. Why is this? Well, there is a learning curve to internet marketing and if you are 100% new to it, chances are you're going to make mistakes early on. With something like affiliate marketing, the cost involved with making a mistake is a lot less than stuffing up the creation of your own product. With affiliate marketing, you don't have to worry about actually creating your own product. What I do suggest is to become an affiliate marketer and when you are making a good living and you know what you are doing, then think about product creation. This way, you can find good niches and then PAY someone else to create a product for your newly discovered niche. If you still have your heart set on coming out with your own ebook or CD, then go for it. But ask yourself a couple of questions first. How do I know people would buy this product? How would I go about marketing it? How could I go about getting an army of affiliates to sell my product? If you are a little unsure about the answers to any of these questions, then perhaps creating your own product isn't for you.
